UKIP To Scrap East End Life

Posted on | Friday, 11 April 2014 | No Comments

We can discuss Editorial integrity at length. But with the soon to be despatched East End Life the conversation has to be brief because integrity simply doesn't exist in this rag; never has under the current regime, never will.
This is the latest edition - post the arrival of Inspectors from PriceWaterhouseCooopers on the express orders of the Department for Communities and Local Government. Nothing on the front page to report what just about every national newspaper covered!
But the rag still carries '5' pictures of Lutfur Rahman, but more than this...remembering there are 51 Councillors across all parties in the Council ...6 pictures of (Rahman supporting) Councillors - all  Independents (3 of which are in Rahman's Cabinet). Go figure. Open, balanced journalism? or quisling reporters?

In fact coverage came in a defensive series of statements on page three..with no mention of the Ministers statement which read, '“It is a matter of public record that I have long been concerned about a worrying pattern of divisive community politics and alleged mismanagement of public money by the mayoral administration in Tower Hamlets'. Integrity?

Finally, how about this on a later page...

No title but its all about Roman Road Parking. Reading through you'd expect to find out who the 3 are holding up the plaque in the picture. No, just the mention of Councillor Shahed Ali (Independent in case you weren't aware).

UKIP are committed to scape this politically divisive circular posing to be a newspaper

The Shame of Tower Hamlets' East End Life

Posted on | Monday, 28 May 2012 | No Comments

And the shame of all those directly associated with this publication. It's a sham and we all know that, but what I find particularly distasteful and loathsome is the editorial staff's bootlicking subservience to this third world political regime, so clearly steeped in cheap propaganda, accusations of corruption and racial disharmony. It's quisling editor applies a third world meaning to the paper's byline, 'News from Tower Hamlets Council'. Let's all understand what the editor means by this, i.e., 'What Tower Hamlets Council Want You to Know'. Familiar propaganda stuff isn't it?!

Real Council News this last week would have been, as every other local 'news'paper reported - 'Councillor Arrested for after Brawl and Death Threats in the Council Chamber'. But, no, not a mention in East End Lies!

And what of the illegally hung portrait of the Führer Mayor in Brick Lane - where the planning Application was never granted and the Banner swiftly removed after unprecedented opposition. Not even a back column mention.

Clearly these newsworthy events were of a type that Mayor Lutfur Rahman and his multicultural quislings consider politically too damaging to the Mayor's image. Honest News from Tower Hamlets Council will have to wait until honest people take the helm - and write the log.

Since When has East End Life Been the Mouthpiece for the Metropolitan Police?

East End Life, Issue 907, 30 April - 6 April 2012

Quote, "...The police have also confirmed that there is no substance to the allegations made so far".

This is under the heading, 'Council responds to postal vote allegations', where they regale in the announcement from the Electoral Commission that the Commission has no investigative powers. The article goes on to regurgitate the spiel about the public confusing fraudulent activity with a 'mobile population'....blah blah blah

They cherry pick from allegations, selecting just two (without identifying or describing them), and summarily dismiss them.

Where is the integrity in a Council that refuses to acknowledge obvious public concern - concern and indignation repeatedly broadcast in the mainstream media? And what type of quisling editorial staff can produce a 'newspaper' that has never - NEVER - criticised or found the Council wanting?

Also of concern is the fact that we haven't heard from our two local parliamentarians on the issue of electoral fraud? What do they have to fear? I'll tell you what they lack - the courage and integrity to acknowledge the stark fact that this is an ethnic/cultural issue. It's a culture of electoral fraud that we will not tolerate in our society.

For public record, I have written to the Metropolitan Police twice on this issue but so far have not received any acknowledgement.

Tower Hamlets East End Life Shows How Easy it is to Rewrite History

The mayor’s propaganda rag, East End Life - which he continues to publish in defiance of national legislation – shows again how easy it is to reduce editorial standards to the gutter.

The first affront is coverage of Peter Wade’s death; the Isle of Dogs Community Campaigner. This proud man’s death doesn’t warrant entry in the ‘News’ section, instead and disgracefully, it’s relegated to ‘Family announcements’. Perhaps the editor isn’t from the Isle of Dogs or is this now how Lutfur Rahman’s quislings commemorate the passing of a local hero?

In the ‘News’ section however, covering a half page, is Shalina Hussain’s, ‘A salute to 400 years of history’.  This is yet another misleading article from a newspaper whose editor cares less about the veracity of content. Ms Hussain states that Bangladeshis have been living in the Borough for more than 400 years. I suspect that even if she had stated 1,000 years, her ‘editor’ wouldn’t have questioned something as unimportant in her mind as local history. To set the record straight - something the ‘editor’ from past experience is disinclined to do - the best evidence we have to hand is that Bengalis have been present in Britain from the 19th century (not the 17th). Records of the first arrivals from what was at the time British India, were Sylheti cooks who are recorded as arriving in London around the 1870’s, as lascars in ships. ‘A salute to almost 200 years of history’ would be correct, but even then it should be clear that mass migration didn’t occur until relatively recently, i.e., 1950’s onwards.

Tinkering with history to suit political imperatives is a dangerous tactic.
